Points To Note
Paul was originally known as Saul.
His birth place was Tarsus. Tarsus is a major City in Cilicia the modern day Eastern Turkey.
Paul was a Jewish Pharisee. A Pharisee is a member of a strict Jewish religious group. And they are known for deep knowledge and interpretation of the Jewish Law called Torah.
Torah emphasizes on the ritual purity. They believe in tithing, fasting, observation of Sabbath, Angels etc.
Paul was a Judaism teacher. The Judaism Law teaches that Jesus is not the Messiah. They don’t believe in the Trinity.
Paul was a persecutor of Christians. Paul was a highly educated Pharisee, trained under a man called Gamaliel, a respected Jewish teacher. Saul opposed Christianity, believing it was a threat to the Jewish Law.
Even in our ignorance, God still loves us.
Paul on his way to Damascus, encountered Jesus. He heard the voice of Jesus and was radically transformed. He was then converted to Christianity and was baptized. Ananias prayed for him and taught him the scriptures.
Paul started his missionary journey, preaching, planting churches and mentoring leaders. His ministry was focused on message of Salvation and Grace through faith, to none Jewish and Gentiles.
Paul taught that salvation is earned by good works given by grace through faith in Christ Jesus.
Paul wrote 13 of the 27 New Testament Books. He also established the foundation of Christian doctrine.
Paul’s faith was total dependent on God. Paul teaches that Salvation is by faith not by our effort or works.
God is a promise keeper.
Grace means unmerited favour. Grace is a gift.
We have come this far because of God’s grace.
Let grace shape how you treat others. Be patient with one another. Learn to forgive one another.
If God has shown us grace, what should be our response? We are expected to show gratitude to God.
